About Aztec
Aztec Middle College is a unique school for students to connect the last two years of high school with Pima Community College to earn a high school diploma and take college courses. Aztec Middle College was formed in 1996 through a partnership with Pima Community College and the following school districts: Tucson, Amphitheater, Flowing Wells, Marana, and Sunnyside Unified School Districts. The first Aztec was started at the West campus and is now available at the East, Northwest and Desert Vista campuses.
The Office of the Pima County School Superintendent joined the Aztec Middle College Partnership in 2003 through a federal grant application, the Tech Prep Demonstration Project grant. The grant was written to add a Business Management and Administrative Services (BMAS) program. The BMAS experience includes a unique Business program with work-based learning in job shadowing, mentoring and a possiblity to earn Pima credit in CSA 101 and BUS 100.

After considering many schools to transfer to from Sahuaro, my counselor told me about Aztec Middle College. Once I heard all that Aztec has to offer, I realized that this was the ideal school for me. Aztec would allow me to finish my high school credits, to get a head start on college and my career. Aztec was the perfect choice for me to achieve my goals.
I think that I can do well at Aztec, because I am able to work and succeed at my own pace. I am no longer being held back by the rest of my classmates. With Aztec I will be able to graduate a year early, and even get some college credits at the same time.
Aztec has made the learning process much easier with it’s smaller class size. The teachers are able to concentrate more on the needs of each student. This is why, after weighing my options, I realized that Aztec is the best school for me!
